Walnut
Walnut is solid hardwood with straight fibers, which can vary in color from brown to yellow with inclusions of tiny, ingrown twigs of varying intensity. The color of the wood is difficult to distinguish from mahogany. Due to its variable density, walnut is fragile and has traversing knots, which makes the material rather difficult to process.
Before processing, it is desirable to moisten it to achieve the plasticity of the wood. Well polishable.
Used for production of exclusive and decorative furniture, cabinets, and interior panels.
Description:
- Class A – boards without cracks and clean on both sides without twigs.
- Class B – one side clean without twigs, live twigs 15-40 mm are allowed on the other side.
- Class C – twigs on both sides are allowed, curvature up to +/-100mm.
*The width of uncut (with bark) timber is measured on the narrow side of the board from the bark to the bark in the middle of the board.
