Teak

Its wood contains special essential oils and resins that prevent water from penetrating the wood and makes it resistant to humidity and temperature fluctuations.  It remains constant in hardness and durability. Teak can be used for an incredibly long time if under the roof, in well-ventilated premises, not in contact with moist soil. This material is very resistant to rotting and moldiness. Although teak is waterproof, it fades and turns silver-gray when exposed to the sun. The discoloration is caused by the disappearance of natural oil.

Due to the beautiful wood pattern, it is a highly sought-after material in furniture production. Due to its durability, teak is widely used in construction – in the construction of columns and supports, in the production of doors and window boxes.  As teak is also very resistant to chemicals, it can also be used as a work surface in the kitchen.
