Black alder

Black alder wood is valuable, light, soft and, the main point is – it is easy to process. The color of wood varies from light pink to yellowish-brown. Ideal black alder logs are rarely found because of a lot of defects in the woods. Wood is used for the production of knife veneers and various joinery products. Tinted black alder is used to substitute more expensive wood species.

Description:

  • Class A – boards without cracks and clean on both sides without twigs.
  • Class B – one side clean without twigs, live twigs 15-40 mm are allowed on the other side.
  • Class C – twigs on both sides are allowed, curvature up to +/-100mm.

*The width of uncut (with bark) timber is measured on the narrow side of the board from the bark to the bark in the middle of the board.
