Birch
The wood is hard, yellowish-white, with a great heat capacity. Used for veneer production, furniture industry, pulp production. In appearance and all properties, birch wood is similar to maple wood. Its hardness is less than 40 Mpa, so birch is one of the soft deciduous trees. The veneer is produced of birch wood, which is known in the production of furniture as birch plywood.
Description:
- Class A – boards without cracks and clean on both sides without twigs.
- Class B – one side clean without twigs, live twigs 15-40 mm are allowed on the other side.
- Class C – twigs on both sides are allowed, curvature up to +/-100mm.
*The width of uncut (with bark) timber is measured on the narrow side of the board from the bark to the bark in the middle of the board.
