Beech
The wood is dense and relatively hard, resistant to deterioration, but unstable to changes in temperature and humidity indoors. Due to internal stresses, the wood tends to twist and crack. The colour of unsteamed beech is greyish white, the kernel is dark brown. After steaming, it gains light pink colour. The fibre is fine and even. The wood is easy to process, suitable for creating curved parts. Can be used for veneer, mass furniture, stairs and floor coverings.
